Description

"The postman always rings twice" , by Erik Pevernagie, oil on canvas, 100 x 80 cm  xx

Instead of making impetuous decisions or snap judgments, we must step back, sometimes, and grant ourselves time for slow thinking, allowing critical thinking to open deadlocks and clear up clouds dimming our journey.

It may be time to write our reflections down to the paper and post a letter.

If a failure can be a bad break, it can also be an opportunity to learn and grow. When we embrace it as a challenging prospect and an occasion to identify what went wrong, we can avoid cloudy days and learn to breathe serenely.

The letter carrier can change or save our lives.

As mail carriers are go-betweens or messengers, they bring good or bad messages and carry missives of hope or notes of despair. They dispatch words of love or tidings of desolation.

Mail carriers can have a fabled radiance. Having the statue of irresistible lady-killers, they may be suspected of keeping secret liaisons with "Grass widows" who have not the opportunity to see men in the flesh.

At times, they might not even avoid running off with their precious booty if the claims of a fiery temperament are too pressing. Mail carriers have a legendary aura: a ring at the doorbell may inflame a sense of expectation, suspense, secrecy, hazard, or even intrigue.

A ring at the doorbell may inflame a sense of expectation, suspense, secrecy, hazard, or even intrigue.

Ringing twice may imply a warning that trouble is on the way or an appeal to make the coast clear. But, not all mailmen, though, will ring twice and await an eye-catching Lana Turner, whom they can whisper: "With my brains and your looks, we could go places."

Mail carriers have a legendary aura, but despite their fiery temperament, they may not always be able to run off with their precious booty.
