"Low profile" , by Erik Pevernagie, oil on canvas, 100 x 80 cm

Keeping a low profile does not allow passion or excitement, unless it is restrained. Lying low does definitely not stand any limelight.

Staying away from the madding crowd helps keeping a low profile and avoiding troubles when violent social outbursts are about to arise or when controversial decisions are going to be taken.

Keeping a low profile and remaining inconspicuous is interpreted by some as a sign of haughtiness or misunderstood as introversion.

Some people fit a certain profile out of inferiority. Others lift their profile out of envy.
